You might want to consider a Tremec 5spd instead. What HP is your engine putting out? Five liter guys regularly dump the T-5 in favor of the World Class T-5 or a Tremec. The WC T- is better, but I forget by how much, not a huge amount. I think it's pretty easy to toast a standard T-5 with just a small block as the Ford trans doesn't have a very high torque rating, like 300ft/lbs or something.
