Hey guys, The speedo in my chevelle quit all of a sudden (no noises or anything... just looked down to find it not moving.. same with my odometer) so I figured the cable had broken.. I have a cruisemaster cruise control box in the car from the factory (though it isn't hooked up to any vacuum lines...) so I have two speedo cables.. One goes from the transmission to the cruise box via a speedo gear reduction box (I guess I have a funky combination of transmission and tire size??), and the other goes from the cruise box to the speedo.. Well, of all the cables it appears that the speedo to the cruise box cable is siezed.. Unless its really togh to turn a cable while its plumbed into the speedo I think somethings broken/stuck/etc... Well, reaching around back under the dash (since the top part of my dash is so darn jam packed with defroster tubing and wires and junk) it seems as though the speedo cable isn't a regular twist-lock.. It appears to be a plate with two screws in it?? It's really tough to get my hand all the way back there to be honest.. But, from the cruise box I can't turn the inside cable.. I figure that means something is seized, though I don't want to be pulling the dash out.. Been there, done that.. Can anyone tell me if the speedo cable is screwed into the speedo or just twist-locked on there like it is at the transmission.. I'll be hating life if I have to yank my entire dash cluster to fix a busted cable.. I might as well put in my floor-shiter speedo without the gear indicator if I have to go that route..

sigh.

Thanks for any help you can send my way.. For some reason I can't find my SS Resto book otherwise I'd just check in there..
