That's true.  I talked with the Richmond rep before I bought mine, he said
the original design (Doug Nash) was redesigned to create a better
transmission.

As for a Tremac, I personally think if you're going to spend the money on
the Tremac in addition to the amount of work required to install it, you'd
be better off getting a Richmond 6 speed.  Yes the 6 speed costs more, but
the only mods needed to install it in my Elky were to move the crossmember
back and redrill the mounting holes, and shorten the driveshaft about an
inch.
