I just purchased a ’66 El Camino from the original owner,  Central Texas car, very litle rust & supposedly no bondo.  as you might expect, I have tons of questions. Any opinions offered are appreciated, whether or not they are of actual assistance.

The car is in Dallas, I am in Phoenix.  Any suggestions as to how to get it from there to here?  My brother-in-law, who has seen & driven the car says the drive to Phx. isn’t a good idea, as the front end has a great deal of play, & the brakes are weak.

Which brings me to the next question.  Does anyone have a comprehensive list of the make, body style, & year of car for a “low aggravation” disk brake conversion?  In the past, I have successfully converted 2 ’64 Chevy pickups over to disk brakes using junkyard parts, so I am somewhat familiar with the drill.  Also, I own a Tool & Die Shop, so modifying tie rod ends or whatever, isn’t a big deal.  This El Camino will not be restored to original, but rather be a daily driver, & not a show car.

I can already hear the groans about the disk brake issue (sorry), so i will end with that.

Thanks for your help.
