I live in Texas too (Austin)...  I couldn't find one to save my life.  So I had to go to Oklahoma to get the one I've got.

And take my advice,  before you drive 400 miles to buy a car.  Pay a third party to look at it before you make the trip.

Are we talking about the same car?  I've compared 69's on the net to mine and the $4500 Elkys seem to be in better shape then mine.

Well, I live in Texas and $4500 wouldn't get me anything close to a good running car in a pre 1973 model Chevelle....I looked for about a month...granted this was before the email list membership. All I found were cars that wouldn't come close to what I have now as far as reliability and looks goes.....Since my '79 C-10 was on it's last legs, I really had to find something I liked and something that had potential as well. I did look at one '72 SS that was ok, but it had a very subtle knock in the lower end of the passenger side and it smoked on startup....it was priced at $4750...
