Oklahoma is better and worse. The plates are only $10 (can't remember exactly) and you get to fill out a form with your top six choices - of course they won't/can't look them up to see if they're already taken. It must be mailed to DMV in OKC and IF your choice is available, you get it; starting with #1, then #2, etc. IF none of them are available, they keep your money and don't let you know that you're not getting anything.
