Many of the viruses that attack Outlook will send from all of your address
book at one time.  It doesn't wait to see if the first or second are
successful before continuing.

We get them quite frequently in our enterprise network.  Someone will go
outside the network and download their personal mail from yahoo, MSN, etc.
and infect their system.  Luckily Outlook will only allow 100 names in the
To field so it only sends mail to the first 100 people in our Global Address
List of about 22,000 names - and it always get sent to the same 100 people

The best thing anyone can do is not open any mail with a suspicious
attachment, period.
