First off I really love my baby big block. When I bought my car it had about 500 miles on the motor, that was the main reason of me buying the car (I hate doing engines, I can build, I can get it to run, I cann't tune.... I suck!! But I try) Mine I am told is good for the 375hp namesake (69 396, bored .30 plus decent cam, all inside is new, heads need redone though, little smokey in the mornings). If I knew the specs I would tell but this car (before the wreck) can spank 'em good and get up to 18 to 20mpg on 89 octane as long as I stayed out of it. I got it up to those numbers with a friend who knows what he's doing, but the biggest advantage was when I blew the cash for the Edlebrock 750. Right as we speak since I cann't find the 454 I want I'm going to be building mine up, probably just the cam/manifold/headers deal since everything else is still good, other than the heads, I have been debating a Comp 270 or 280 I want a lumpy idle. As for your hood clearence problem what was it again you are putting this in?
