Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] Opinions on
Ausley's bumpers
Ground Up will also be at
Carlisle. They will take orders and deliver products to Carlisle if you
get your order in early enough. All of the catalog companies sell the
exact same bumper. So the repro bumper Ausley's. NPD, Ground Up has are
all made by the same manufacturer.
What turned me off about the
bumper boyz is the fact that they have the tendency to be ignorant business
people. They also like to charge you your states sales tax. i
found this to be a little suspect since you have to have a physical entity in
a given state to charger sales tax. I wasn't going to pay a California
company NJ State Sales tax. Besides, it was an out of state sale the way
I look at it and I'm not paying tax to them on it. They even wanted to
charge tax if I had them ship it from California to New Jersey, not to mention
75 bucks for shipping. i told them to forget it
Your 100% correct on the catalog guys pedaling
the SAME manufactures bumper.
Another sorrce of orginial bumpers used by a
number of guys. is Tri-city Plating. from Elizabith,TN.
I have exchanged bumpers at Carlisle and sent my
cores to be replated and returned. They do come to
Carlisle.
Were around $ 225 for 64/65 bumpers over the
last few years. and YES they charge PA.sales tax
The only way I know to BEAT the Sales Tax AT
Carlisle or
Englishtown. is to pre pay the purchase . You
just save dilivery charges. on big item like bumpers/ 1/4 panels and hood's
which could be expensive.
The TAX guys did a sweep of venders about 5 years
ago at Spring Englistown. Acording to Don from Lehigh Valley Chevelle Parts.
(who's spots were across from BB's)
Carlos forked over 5 grand because his NJ temp
Tax permit was expired!!!
