Hello, The Vette is up and running. After reading everyone's suggestions, I went to Autozone and picked up an HEI coil (a stock one, as in cheap!). After installing the coil, I turned the key and it started - for a mintute, then it died. I tried again and it started doing what it was doing before! I moved the distributor around a few times and it finally started and stayed running. It appears that the coil went bad - it was a farily new coil so I figured it wasn't the problem. For now everything seems to be back to normal (except for the empty house). In a couple hours I'll go out and see if it still starts.
