The only time I was ever burned by an ebay seller was buying parts that were not part of the auction. The guy wrote me saying that he had other parts for my car, and some of them turned out to be crap (described as NOS, badly scratched and caked with mud. I had to wash them in my kitchen sink just to see wht kind of condition they were in. The used ones on my car were in better condition). I wanted to keep a couple of them and return the others, and the guy got adamant that I should return everything. Eventually I convinced him to let me keep the ones I wanted so it all worked out in the end. I didn't post any feedback about the auction and neither did he, although the item that was actually auctioned was fine. Personally, I don't buy anything on ebay any more. I'm too busy to wait a week and then sit up until midnight just to see whether or not I'm going to get a part. Then if there is a dispute, you're pretty much at the mercy of the seller, unless it is somebody who has an established business and wouldn't risk the bad publicity that comes from ripping people off. I have heard too many stories of people never receiving parts, returning parts and never getting their money back, etc. Some people love it though, and occasionally there is actually a bargain to be had. Bad fitting repros? Haven't seen one yet. I have seen a couple of manufacturing flaws though (like the 66 grill emblems I mentioned last night, and the 65 headlight bezels that are coming scratched from the factory). I'll be the first one to tell the customer if there is an issue like that, rather than have it returned and have the customer disappointed.
