Thanks Dale, but with all due respect, that's like the substitute teacher
asking "who's not here?" I would rather have people tell me what they have
been searching for and have not been able to find. It not only shows that
the part is not available, but also that there is a demand for it.

About those 300 emblems, I think the problem is that most people who have a
300 would rather buy SS badges than 300 badges. It sounds like something
that would appeal to a very limited market.

I like the idea of the SS 454 & 502 emblems though. I would need to have
some for reference though. Anybody have one that they would be willing to
loan temporarily?

I also like Herb's idea for the 66 El Camino nameplate, and might have to
take him up on borrowing that for a little while.

The goal here will of course be to make exact reproductions. I am not
familiar with machining terminology, so I don't know what CNC means (copper,
nickel, chrome?). The plan so far is that if it was made out of pot metal
originally, we will make it out of pot metal; if it was anodized aluminum,
we will make it out of anodized aluminum, etc. etc. The guy is very
confident though that he can stamp or cast just about anything, as long as
he has an original as a model. His motorcycle emblems are very nicely made,
and he also makes mechanical parts that are no longer available.

You might start with a good catalog such as YO and see what's NOT out there
yet and ask about the popularity of those items - like Chevelle 300 or 300
Deluxe scripting. Might just be a market for those. How about 66 and 67
grille and rear panel badges of SS454 or SS502? A lot of guys are running a
454 or a 502 in later years as well. Take any year 396 badge and duplicate
in 454 and 502. I think there are some 502 badges starting to show up, but
probably not for the majority of years. Other possible numbers might be 406
or 468...I think the 383 is being done.

Someone suggested (tongue-in-cheek) about "SSC" badging for "Super Sport
Clone". Might sell, who knows?

Just curious, are these to be castings or CNC machined from stock?
