The trim is stainless and pretty difficult to polish out. The best way is remove the piece and use a wheel and polishing compound. I don't think thats practical for the vent window trim. You may have success with a drill, polishing compound and a polishing bob. I've tried to polish it but it doesn't quite get back to the way the rest of the trim is. Does anyone have any ideas?
