I agree and I like the lacquer finish over a 2 step base coat clear coat paint. I have seen many very nice base coat clear coats.  Still on a personal opinion think lacquer is just number 1 with a beautiful glass finish that cannot be matched.  But I also know lacquer is an unforgiving finish to chips, long term maintenance, etc., whereas the 2 step paints are just so durable.
