Sounds like a dirty sending unit.    There is a troubleshooting procedure
here:  http://links.chevelles.net/links/WorkShop/General_Info/   at the
Fuel Gauge Troubleshooting link.  Fred makes it easy to follow.  Also
there is a troubleshooting procedure in the tech Reference area of Team
Chevelle www.chevelles.com
