OUCH! Years ago (1968 or so) I did something similar with a 3 speed tranny. Trying to slide it in my 58 pontiac I slipped. It landed on my hand. Fortunately I was working in the mud of my grandmothers driveway. Cushioned the impact and all I got was a sore hand for a week or so.
