Michael,

I've had good luck with Taylor wires as well as MSD and Accel sets. I
currently have Taylor wires on both my cars. Most big blocks and headers
seem to require a 135 degree boot to get most of the wires to snap onto the
plugs and Taylor is one of the few that offer them. Personally, I prefer to
"build" a set as opposed to the factory terminated ones. It's more work for
sure, but I can route them exactly the way I want without having to wrap
them around the steering column a couple of times to take up the slack. The
MSD 8.5mm "Super Conductor" set has 40-50 ohms resistance per foot; the
Accel 300+ set has 150 ohms per foot; the Taylor 7mm and 8mm Spiro-Wound
sets are 350 ohms per foot.

As for the coil, do you have another vehicle you could pull a coil from to
see if it fires? I think ACCEL also recommends that the coil be mounted
vertically and not horizontally to keep the winding covered or it'll burn up
over time. You also might check to see if the ballast resistor is any good.
The one for the Super Coil is rated at 0.85 ohms.
