A friend of mine has a '74 Super Duty Trans Am with the Dr. Gas 3" exhaust system and X-pipe, and he loves it. He did quite a bit of research before installing it and I'm sure if there was something as negative as a loss of 30 lb-ft he would've found out and said something. I'll pass along your message to him; he might be able to help you out.
