I have a 7 blade thermal clutch fan on the 454. Flex fans are junk, all they do is make the engine run hotter and do not draw enough air to cool the engine especially sitting in traffic. Flex fan caused the 454 to overheat one night. I put the clutch fan on and have not had a problem since.
