The best way to avoid warpage is to do 1"stitch welds every 6 inches or so completely around the new floorpan. Once that cools, do 1" stitch welds starting where the old weld stopped. Also a good idea to only remove 1/2 of the floorpan at a time, as opposed to totally cutting out the entire floorpan. Big job, good luck.

I would think you would have less chance of screwing something up when cutting, have a cleaner look when done, have overall stronger metal, and less chance of rust return if you just welded in the new ones complete. That’s my thoughts and plans at this point anyway.
The one thing I am worried about is warping the sheet metal when welding. Anyone have any tips?
I am curious as to where you bought yours and why you chose that source. I will be buying mine in a few months unless I find a deal I can’t pass up at an upcoming event.

I just ordered the pans yesterday. I got the two half pans that complete the whole floor. I plan on doing a frame off on the car. My question is do I just cut out the areas I need for the rotted thru sections of the floor, or do I just remove the whole floor and put the complete new floor in? Opinions are needed! (I am of the mindset to keep as much original steel as possible as long as it's solid but was wondering what some others thought.) Thanks!
