My 71 was built in the midwest (forget the state, Kansas maybe), it had plastic inner wells. I tried to replace them with plastic inner wells from a parts house, but the quality was too poor. I used goodmark metal replacements, they are pretty nice.

Its an often discussed topic. Some cars from every factory came with the plastic at one time or another. What the car got, depended on what was on hand at the moment. I've read posts from several folks who got one of each on a new - from the factory - chevelle. rick ---------- Shawn Price <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: From: Shawn Price <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [Chevelle-List] Inner Fender Panels Date: Mon, 29 Jul 2002 12:16:06 -0400 Ok, here's one for the group. I have an all original '69 SS 396/325. My dad is the original owner and I'm now trying to finish the restoration. The car has plastic inner fender panels that are of course cracked and generally yucky looking. All the aftermarket ones I'm seeing are steel (The GoodMark ones look the best). I was told by a local yahoo that the plastic panels were from Canadian cars (but I'm not likely to belive him) but mine was built here in Atlanta. What were the percentages of cars built with plastic vs. steel panels?
