Steve
I have completed 1 frame off on my 70, and near completion of a frame off on my 69. The best thing I did was make up a rotisserie. I never welded any braces in mine. I just put it up and went to town. However, I did not install any floor pans on mine, they were suprisingly solid, needed some minor patching. The 70 needed a trunk pan and 2 quarters. The 69 needed 2 quarters. if yours needs quarters, try to get the GM ones. I know they are a little pricy, but the repros suck, especially on 69. As for the floor pans, I would put them in after you pull the body off. I don't like welding upside down. I have some pics of both cars up on the lift if you would like to see them. My 70 actually sat up on the lift for about 8 months without the quarters on and never sagged. It was only supported by the front and rear mount points.
If there is anything else I think of to keep you aware of, I will let you know
