Henri, I have a straight 6 in my 65 Malibu. When I first got it, from a stand still, it would stumble on its face and stall if the accelerator were used with any force. I found that the timing was set at 4 degrees BTDC. In my manual it calls for 8 degrees BTDC. That might get you on the right track. Take it easy. Congrats on the purchase.
