You buy the dry ice in pellet form. There are some drawbacks. It doesn’t have a long shelf life, so you have to buy it when you are ready to use it. It is in fact not recycled, which is great because you don’t need a cabinet, but bad because you have to buy it every time. Ergo paint falls off, rust falls off, etc.   Also you never need a cabinet with dry ice because you don't need to collect and recycle the blast medium. Just roll up the compressor (put in the ear plugs) and go. The only thing to clean up is whatever falls off the car.
