I heard the other day that the way you spot a 4 bolt is by the pipe thread fitting just above the oil filter mounting. If it's 3/8", it's a 2 bolt. If it's 1/2 ", it's a four bolt. I don't have any ID numbers off it yet, just that it's out of a wrecked 73 pickup w/ 83K on it. I cant imagine it being a 4 bolt block, or even any kind of hi-po engine..just a typical 73 240/250 HP.   jerry
