Hello All, I haven't talked to you in a while since I got married in April. I am considering selling the '72 to make a down payment on a house. Could anyone give me an honest opinion of what it is worth and what it would be worth with a $2000 paint job? I'm thinking of putting a couple of grand into it to get it painted, but won't if it won't add at least $2000 to the sale price.
The engine is solid and had over $8000 put into it before I acquired it. The car is an SS from everything I can tell. Hints include original paint under the SS symbols, hidden wipers, what can only be described as original hood pins, round gauges, sport steering wheel, etc. If it is a clone, it was done many many years ago (ie. at least 15 or 20) since this car could definitely use a good restoration. I know you cant really tell without taking a close look, but just ballpark would give me something to go on. The car can be seen on my website at http://www.spatchy.com/chevelle.htm.
