To the best of my understanding, the size of the tube is driven by the cam
profile and head design. What does the motor builder recommend?

Subject: [Chevelle-List] large tube headers

I picked up some Hooker Super Comps from Frank on this list a couple years
ago... at the time I didn't realize there were large tube and small tube
headers. Anyways, I'm getting ready to do an engine swap and I now realize
I have large tube headers. Everything I've read says that small tube
headers are the way to go. What are the effects of having too big of
headers? I'm just wondering becuase I got such a good deal on these
headers, I'd hate to not be able to use them, but at the same time if
they're going to cause a lot of problems I don't want that either.

I'm looking at putting in a 375 horse crate engine with 400 something ft.
lb. of torque. Is this enough power to use the large tube headers without
problem? This will be a daily driver. The heads are L-98 corvette heads if
that makes a difference.

Thanks for any info, input, opinions, etc.

Rodney.
