I work in IT in a pure Dell shop (all dell servers, workstations, and
laptops). I bought four dells last year for family members. On the
business side, they are excellent. Never had a problem in the five
years we have had them. On the home side, in my experience, they make
you jump through a lot of hoops but are usually pretty good.

Depending on what you need fixed (cd-rom, floppy, zip, etc..) they can
send that stuff out easy. If it's something else, then it depends on
what support you purchased (whether you have onsite support). If you
have onsite, then they are usually there within a day or two to fix ya
up. If you don't have onsite, then you have to send it in (or at least
I did). They are like that on the business side as well.

Rich. If you have bought 3 Dells I was wondering how much of a pain in
the ---- is it when you need repair, or if they are at fault. Do you
have to
do without your unit until its repaired? mike smith
