Steve,
It's called "weld through primer". Basically a nice coating of zinc to help slow rusting. Don't know if it prevents it though. Any good body shop supply house should have it. Take it easy.

Subject: [Chevelle-List] Welding & Sealing

Gents,
I am about to start welding in floor pans. I want to use a lap joint, but was warned that you can get rust developing where the metal overlaps. That's a good point.

Another guy recommended some stuff to put in there before you weld but can't give me the details on what it is and where to find it. I know to watch out for fumes when welding....so have to be careful.

What have others done to prevent rust there? Does anyone know of a product to use there?
