Thanks everyone for the replies. I left the house early this morning to go work on my car before I got these replies. I was originally trying to find the resistance in some resistance wire I got with my wiring kit, but ended up buying a resistor from radio shack. Once I KNEW what the resistance was supposed to be, I played with the different settings on the meter and eventually figured it out. As frustrating as this wiring problem is at least I'm learning how to use my meter :)
Just a tip for those of you with reference type websites (Dale's comes to mind first)... if you want some traffic you might consider a tutorial on multimeters :) I tried doing a search and couldn't come up with much. The ones I did come up with were over my head and very confusing. A nice, simple, easy to follow instruction with some pictures would probably draw a lot of web traffic. Just an FYI.
