If by "deformed" MC gasket you mean it grew oversize, this is a prime indicator of contamination in the system. Even a small amount of petroleum based product will cause swelling of the rubber in the brake system. Shouldn't affect the power booster, but any brake system part that uses rubber could be-MC, WC, calipers, hoses, proportioning valve, etc. Once you do get it working, be sure to completely flush the system with new fluid to prevent reocurrence.

I have cut lines that have just a pin hole for an ID. This would also be consistent with what your experiencing. The brake fluid can't bleed back so the brakes lock then over time they bleed through the bad line and the brakes release.
