Can you get fluid at the MC output? If no, that's the first item to replace. The fact that you said your calipers looked gummed up implies that the rest of the system's rubber is bad too. An experience brake person could tell you by looking at each part what happened. MC & WC are very reasonably priced for these-not a problem to replace. Proportioning valve is more difficult, but the least likely to be ruined. Hoses were $25ea or so as I remember, & should be readily available. Like someone else said, they're a safety item, and worth replacing anyway if old.
I would start at the MC and see if you can pump good fluid flow out. If not, replace it & thoroughly flush system to remove contaminants. If its OK, work your way down. Go from there. Be sure to replace parts from the top down, and flush thoroughly. to avoid ruining new parts with contamination left in the system.
