I think he is talking about a manual convertible top vs. a power convertible top, not a coupe vs. a convertible.
I have the same question and wonder what is involved in adding a power unit to my 64 manual convertible top. is a structural part of the car. Convertibles have fully boxed frames to make
up for the rigidity that is lost when the roof is not there. If you cut the
