I have had 3 convertibles, a '57 Ford, a '65 Mustang and a '69 GTO. And they all seem to have the same rust problems. Look at the front bow where it snaps shut on the windshield frame. This is sometimes a hard part to replace. (Find) Look for rust in the floor boards. Yeah, they all have rust but contv. are more prone to leak heavier than a hard top. I had to replace the floors front to back on all of mine. They also leak at each rear side window. And look at the rear panel where the rear window is. (between the trunk and window) There is hidden rust here you may not be able to see with the top on so get in the trunk and move forward as far as you can and take a look. Lots of things are normal, leaking cylinders, motor and hyd. fittings. But if the price is right and you have the time and skill or can have the work done, there is nothing like having the wind in your face. Other than that, it's pretty much the same as looking at a hardtop. Good luck. Let us know if you get it. Oh, and one other place to look really good at is the front of the dash. Water often comes in and rolls down the windshield and settles in the dash. Rich "66 Malibu ACES # 5066
