Nothing wrong with a clone car. Just do not pass it off as the real thing which way too many people are doing nowadays, especially on Ebay. I say it's your car, do whatever you want with it. I have 2 Chevelles that are restored. One is a 70 that is no where near numbers matching and a 69 Malibu that is Original Restored. The Corvette guys are too uptight in my opinion, us Chevelle guys are much more relaxed and interested in having fun with our cars.
