Right now, the configuration is a PCV valve on the right valve cover, and nothing on the left valve cover (no holes, breather, or filler cap).

Basically the breather acts as a 2-way street; sometimes it allows air into the crankcase (PCV valve open) and other times it vents vapors to the atmosphere or to the air cleaner if it's a breather tube (PCV valve closed).
