John: I recently read that the limit on small claims court suits has been increased.
Check it out. Document everything, try to recreate a diary of facts & dates, etc.,
and take a bunch of pictures of the bad work as well of examples of good work.
Hopefully you had some type of written agreement which included the type of work to be
done, the finished product and the quality or satisfaction level expected. Small
claims filing fees are not much and what have you got to lose but maybe alittle time.
Do your homework right. Chances are your body guy won't. These types should be run
out of the trade and I hope you spread the word in your area not to use the guy. I
don't want to sound like a hard a## but if this guy gets sued and loses enough, and
can't feed his family or loses his business, from what I read in your list memos, he
obviously deserved it. Of course I don't have all the details but what I do know
infuriates me. One of the rights we have in this country is ou!
r judicial system. It's there for us. You have to feel strong & confident to fight
this and from your last posting I didn't get that so I'm trying to PUMP YOU UP. If
all what you say is true, GET TOUGH & GO FOR IT!!
There's so much camaraderie & integrity in this sport of muscle cars, it really
bothers me to see someone spoil it. If you can't negotiate with the guy to your
satisfaction, SUE HIM!! I wish you the best.

P.S. I'm not an attorney.
