Just a thought Herb.  You could choose to leave the car with manual
steering if you like it that way.  Unless you want the upgrade to power
steering, you could install the pump for the brakes, but just skip the
steering box when you plumb it up.  If it is anything like the setup in
last month's Chevy Hi Performance, you just have two return lines to the
reservoir.

If you do want the power steering and it is not too late, have you
thought about a box rebuilt to modern specs (higher effort, faster
ratio?) from a place like Lee Manufacturing?
