I am interested in a small poll. I like to watch these macro trends.I think people don't really care until it has a direct impact on them or their family. It's a changing economy, and there isn't a whole lot the average Joe can do about it. You will never get a nationwide embargo on foreign products, heck, you'll have a hard time getting 25 people to agree to do something, much less a state or a nation.
Do you think the average American has any idea this is happening, or cares?
Or do people care but just don't know what to do about it?

What can be done? The only thing I can think of is putting tariffs on imports, then that drives up the cost of products for everyone and creates a problem for the US manufacturers who want to export their products to other countries.
You can also find other things to blame, such as the Internet. Southwest Airlines is closing 3 reservation centers (one in Little Rock) costing over 1000 jobs. They say that more people are booking through the Net and now they don't need as many reservation
agents. One of my customers, a single mother with 3 kids, is losing her job.
It's a tough choice--cheaper prices or more jobs.
My $.02.

BTW I'm with HarleyGuy--who is ICP??
