Nothing wakes up a motor like a roller cam, except maybe a solid lifter
cam.  If you don't plan to drive all that much, you can get away with a
solid lifter cam and annual (or longer) valve adjustments.  If you want
the drivability and not have to worry about adjusting valves every so
often, you could go for a roller.  Roller cams are a lot more expensive
when you add in the retrofit lifters.

Even a conservative roller cam like the XR264HR bumps up the torque.
Want 450 lb-ft from 2000 to 4000 RPM?  Plus you get another 20 HP.  Want
to get more aggressive?  The XR288HR drops a bunch of torque (but still
over 400 from 3000 to 5000 RPM), but knocks HP up to 417 @ 5,500 RPM.
All of this with the same heads you have.  

Upgrade to a more modern head like the World S/R Torquer and you can buy
more performance.  The head manufacturers can recommend cams to match,
and the cam manufacturers can recommends cams for various heads and your
setup and needs.

For a great street setup, your intake is just fine.  At some point you
might need some more carburetor, but you could still use the 600 up to
maybe 450 HP, maybe before.  If you stay in the lower RPM band, then you
don't need the bigger carburetor.  But heads and cam can really make a
difference.  I'm looking for my roller cam, all forged small block to be
over 450 HP and 475 TQ.  This is with upgraded everything.  My real goal
is more than 350 HP at the rear wheels.

If you want a goal for next year, research the heads out there and
decide on one, then choose the right cam for (your wallet) the head,
your car, and your style of driving and do that swap next.  Buy new head
bolts of you do this.  It should only take you a weekend.
