First off, check out www.chevelles.com/tech and look in the brakes forum, tons of info there.
Second, a B body is a full size GM car, IE Caprice, Impala, Delta 88, 98 Regency, Riviera.  Mid 80's station wagons make great donor cars.
 
You will need a booster to fit an A body.  A stock one is available from just about anywhere, or you can get a smaller one from Master Power Brakes.
 
Yes it is true that the rear discs off a late model F body are a direct bolt on to a 12 bolt.  You need all of the mounting hardware off the F body which is available at a Chevy dealer.
 
As for the prop valve, it would be best to use a combination valve off a 71-72 A body.  You can use one off of any other disc brake car, but you will need to make up your own lines to put it in place.
