Ryan, if it is a man. flywheel, it will be heavy cast iron. An auto is thin (1/8") or so. If you have access to a welder, take a piece of flat bar, drill a hole in it about 3/8 or 1/2", lay the hole on the broken bolt and weld up the hole. Then tap the bar back and forth to loosen the bolt. The heat from the welder will go a long way toward loosening the threads. I have also used a nut to weld on the the broken bolt, you will have to let this cool more before you try to turn it.

Good luck!

 Brian

I recently purchased a 396 witht the fly wheel included. I was told that it was from a 4 speed manual. I"m sure there is a way to tell if the flywheel is from a manual or not but not sure of exactly what it is. Also, the block has a busted bolt on the back of it where my engine stand needs to bolt on. I tried using screw removers and bolt extractors but nothing seemed to work. Is there any options other than taking it to a machine shop and having it drilled and tapped back out?? Thanks for the help

Ryan
