David, The trickiest and most dangerous part is
R&R ing the coil springs. By all means replace all bushings, ball joints and
coil springs. Tie rods most likely will need replacing as well. If you are not
set up to press bushings and ball joints, take the control arms to a local auto
machine shop to have this done. Also closely inspect the control arms for
cracks. I don't believe the lowered spindles will cause you to have to change
your brakes. You will not believe the difference the changes will make in the
ride and handling of your car. Others may advise you differently, but I don't
recommend polygraphite bushings. Yes they will offer less deflection but on
a street driven car I would stay with stock rubber bushings. I have used both
and in my experience the poly bushings will become noisy in
time.
