I just spoke with my good friend who has a background in audio and
electrical engineering. He said that I could put a voltmeter across the wire
going to my starter solenoid and if there is a voltage drop across the wire
under load, I need a heavier gauge wire. He also said that heat creates
resistance, which is why it happens when it's hot. I don't have a voltmeter
but he said it couldn't hurt to try going up a gauge in the wire I'm using.
He said it sounded to him like it could easily solve the problem. We'll see.
