Thanks but then I would need a new wiring harness. Mine is not wired for electric choke. Manual chokes come in handy sometimes. When the car was acting up a week or two ago, the only way to keep it running was by keeping the choke on. I would have had a much tougher time getting home if I had an electric choke. I'm going to try the grease and wire-tie method first.

Why not get the electric choke kit? I have used many of these carbs including the one on my 4 wheel drive I use to push snow with, a couple pumps and it starts right up in the coldest of weather.
