As ’68 was the first year of the side marker lamps, maybe that’s when they kept parking lamps on as well?  Be a bit of trivia that may come in handy later.  Be sure to let us know what you discover  Very few pre-68 cars around here.

That's a good question Dale.  I first noticed this while fixing some wiring on a 66 Malibu, I couldn't figure out why the parking lights wouldn't come on with the headlights, but came on by themselves.  It was perplexing at the time, then I found out that's the way they are.  I'm going to do some research and find out if any pre 68 Fords or Mopars do the same thing.
