John, I haven't seen a non-air dash with the dash out of it, but on my A/C car, the left (driver's) side A/C bezel attaches only to the plastic part of the dash.  The plastic is cut out to fit the A/C duct and bezel, and there isn't any metal behind it.  I would think that would also be true for a non-A/C car because there isn't any reason for any metal to be back there.  Now the right side is a different story, and the dash metal would have to be cut.  However, if you had a good template and an air saw, it could easily be cut out.  I'd like to help Kevin out with a template, but I don't want to disassemble my dash again right now.

Yeah but that was a whole separate dash carrier & metal dash that were set up for that. It was not the result of somebody trying to cut holes in their existing dash. Might be tough, especially on the metal carriage that is behind the plastic part of the dash carrier. Not for the faint of heart, although you seem to be not worried about having the skills to do the job.
