had but they used to come from the factory like
that. The temp usually
rises after you shut the engine off. That's why
it's coming on. Let the
fan run and it will stop the heat from building up.
There used to be a
warning on the radiator that said "Caution fan may
come on with ignition
off" or something like that.

I have dual fans on my BB with a temp sensor in
the alum head. The
sensor is set at 190 to activate. Currently at
this time of year the
fans do not come on while the car is moving, but
when I shut it off the
sensor will read a higher temp in the Alum head
and start one fan and
run for about 9 min. I'm considering installing a
higher temp sensor to
prevent the fan from running while the engine is
off. Of course this
will effect running temps by making the fans come
on at a higher temp.
How high of a temp would you guys allow the motor
to get to before the
fan come on. I can run one or two fans manually
if I chose while driving
