Hi guys. First I want to thank everyone here and at the Team Chevelle forums for all safety advice for the front suspension and specifically the springs. I have managed to get the front end apart. I am positive I would have ended with some sort of disaster had I not read some of your emails. I am converting from a 307 to a 402 BB and need to replace the springs. While I am at it I am rebuilding the front end. I had some springs that I don't know what they are out of, but they looked just like the ones that were in the car but have a heavier coil. Thought I would try to use them, as I need to start saving some money on my precious money pit.
When I got the springs out, there is about a two inch heigth difference. (Didn't allow enough for what fits up into the tower) I don't want to lower the car that much. Also, now that I see what it is to get these devils out, this isn't a job I want to redo because something isn't right. Can anyone suggest someplace where I can get the best price for BB springs. I don't need a full suspension package, as I already have the PST poly front end rebuild kit. Just going for springs and will need shocks also. Thanks in advance. Jim
