Hi Stephen, I've done exactly what you describe to my '69 Malibu, except that I tend to go to the track 2-3 times per year with it for fun. I'tll cost you far more than $2k, I can assure you. I have over $5k in parts just in the rear end; wheels and tires will run you $1k plus. Now, I do have a race ready Ford 9" setup with all the goodies, so it can be done for less, but not a lot less. Then there's wheel tubs, fabrication, rebuild trunk floor, etc, etc. Feel free to check out the tons of pics and pages of my car at http://www.prostreetcar.com. And feel free to ask me questions. I can give you plenty of lessons learned on what not to do. I might even have some parts to sell, such as a narrowed Ford 9" housing and Detroit Locker. :-) take care, Mike -- I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, Than live my life as if there isn't, And die to find out there is. -author unknown Ten Commandments -- The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a Courthouse is that you cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal", Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians! It creates a hostile work environment.
